My first watercolor. . .

This is my first watercolor:

Not perfect, nothing magnificent, but I am very happy with it. I have always been terrified of watercolors. So now, here I am, having fun in my botanical illustration class, painting some pretty plants. This was just a practice (I did it on postcard paper). Now it’s time to do the real thing. I’m gonna send this one to my mom, since her birthday in on Friday. Mom’s love this kind of stuff. 🙂

I wonder whatever happened to majorxero, he hasn’t updated in a while.

Wee, this is purdy. Watercolors are cool because unlike other paints, you can carry them with ya and they dry almost instantly, so they’re good for trips, fieldwork, etc. This is a wonderful picture, it’s a cactus thingie…although i don’t know the actual name of it, I could recognise it which is of course what you were going for, that being a botanical illustration.

Very nice! Watercolor scares the heck outta me, too. I’ve only tried it like, twice in my life. 😀 Maybe one of these days…..

Hey, I think it is great. You have the talent in your blood! You come from a long line of artists. I honestly like it. I wish I could paint like that. Whenever I try it, well, lol, lets just say it NEVER looks that nice. 🙂

    Hee hee hee. I yeah I would, if I had it. I haven’t heard from your uncle in almost 2 months. I even told him that I really needed to talk to him. He said ok, that we could meet for coffee or something. But he never called. Or maybe he did, but he doesn’t leave any messages. I never got a chance to ask for his new # either.
    It’s weird, he calls me completely out of the blue. And when I make the slightest comment that it’s a miracle that he’s calling, he sounds uncomforatble and threatens (jokingly but I think he means it anyways) to hang up if I’m going to scold him for not calling more often. He really isn’t a good friend. But that is another issue altogether. Now do you know why I react the way I do when he does call me? It’s like, a COMPLETE shock to me. That’s why i reacted that way at your house. I was surpised to hear him. And he always calls either from a pay phone (cuz he suddenly thought of me and says he wanted to see how I was doing) or from a friend’s house (which I think is weird).
    So, nope. I don’t got nothin’ on him. If he does call (fat chance!!!) I’ll pass the message onto him. I’ll try to get his # at least.
    I take it he still hasn’t given you the b-day present he “says” he got you?
    Well, good luck finding him. If you talk to him or see him first, give him a nice hard kick in his….butt. LOL

      I don’t even want to get into the feelings of , well, how I feel about him or this situation because it’ll just make me break down. You haven’t heard from him in almost two months. Wow. I wonder how long I haven’t heard from him. I don’t want you to give him anything. No message. In the event that you do speak, ask him for his mailing address – make something up. I want to send him something. I want it to be a surprise.
