The Job Hunt

On the down side: Job hunting sucks.
On the up side: I got a spot at the Aquarium. yay!!

So here’s how it goes (and this is me being optimistic ok):

I start training this Saturday (it’s called ‘Aquarium 101’). It’s a two-day training (two Sat’s). We’re supposed to learn about the critters at the aquarium and customer service stuff too. I think it’ll be a breeze. What’s more is that it’ll be fun and I am already thinking of all these great things that I want to do there. For instance, they have this sleepover program that let’s kids sleepover at the aquarium. Of course, their rich parents pay for it. What I would like to do is to bring in inner city kids that have an interest in science and get sponsors and such to get them to do the same without putting their parents into bankruptcy. well, you know what I mean.

So I decided that I might as well just apply to any damn place that’ll take me (minus the food industry). I picked up an application at Toys ‘R’ Us. I want to pick one up at Walmart (wednesday at 7am, first 40 people get an application – this is every week!). So anyway, then it may seem stupid, but I gave up looking in clerical positions – one of the only places I actually have years and years of experience. So I started that again and started applying online to a few places. I hope this works out.

I also got Lynda’s recommendation letter today. Made me feel really good about myself and made me all nostalgic for my RA days. 🙂 Also got confirmation that my letter from Armida should be on it’s way to my mailbox really soon.

Things are starting to roll, even if it is in slow motion.
