Good Stuff
80’s party on Friday was cool. It was scary how eighties I ened up looking. Remind me, when I get the pics developed, I will actually share – but you have to remind me. lol Anyway, Juan had fun too, even if he was amazed (read: wierded out) by my co-workers. There were people from education, husbandry, life support, A/V, and others there, which made it especially nice. People’s outfits were outrageously cool and authentic. There weren’t as many Madonna-wannabes as I expected. Maybe just one or two. But there were headbands galore!
Saturday I did my first tours. I am now checked off for them so every Saturday this month I will be doing Behind the Scenes Tours, which are tres-cool. By some curious twist of events, Noe calls me up just as I am going in to work and says he wants to stop by the aquarium. I tell him to come on over and that I will give him the hookup, and that he may even get to go on a tour. Well, he brought Daisy too. Man, I hadn’t seen these guys in a long time! What? Since ’97, so that’s six years dude. Wow. It was nice seeing them, and they had a nice time.
Later that afternoon/evening was Chusma-Time (we should trademark that, lol). Chuy and amontoya put together a beach get-together for everyone which started around noon and ended with a bonfire at 10pm (the time the beach closed). It was great and I wish we could have been there earlier so that we could actually get in and play in the water. They looked like they were having such a great time. Too bad I got out of work so late. Next time it’s on Sunday you guys! Except the 20th, I work that day….
Oh, and check this out! Toni Rose calls me up right when I am starting my 1:30 tour (which Noe and Daisy were on) and I ignore the phone and later put it on silent mode. She left this long message saying that she hoped I recognized her and that if I wanted to call her back, her number was 239651132684321, no, seriously? She zoomed by that number so fast, and I swear, it sounded like it was fifteen numbers long. Thank god for caller ID. So I get out of work, and as I am waiting for Juan to pick me up, I give her a call, and get the machine so I leave a message. She called me back a few minutes later and we catch up. It was so nice to talk to her. She has been living in Seattle for the past year with Andy. She is working to what is the equivalent of a librarian for this big private corporation, and does theater on the side. Leila is living in New York working in the same company as her boyfriend Chris being the computer programmers that they are, or so Toni thinks. She doesn’t really know what she does, except that it has to do with computers. 🙂
All in all, it was a lovely day. Up until I got home and saw that some monster had barfed up all the clothes in our closet and scattered it across the room. No, really. The damn rack where all the clothes was hanging decided to fall. Now we have to figure out how to put it back up even though there is a very important bracket that has mysteriously dissapeared. *sigh*
And on a totally random note that I have been wanting to post…
for the past couple of months, I have been sporting a water bottle everywhere I go. Remember guys? That day we went to 3rd St Promenade and I bought that adorable water bottle from Starbucks? Well, ever since then, I have carried a bottle with me everywhere and fill it up anywhere from 3-6 times a day. Because of this, and because of slightly elevating my lifestyle to a little more active, I have lost 15 pounds! Go me! Imagine if I actually exercised and dieted? Well, that might not happen, but we’ll see…
