Let’s see. I forgot a couple of things from last week, but biggest thing I want to mention that I forgot…
Last Wednesday, after work, I went looking for Jean and Jerry, two volunteers on our Wednesday team. I love those two. Yes, they’re older, senrios citizen old, but they have got to be my favorite people over there. Just out of nowhere, they started bringing me gifts from their (frequent) trips. Like when they went to Toronto, they brought me back a lovely copper jewelry box thingy with killer whale on the top (they went whale watching). Then when they went up north to Monterey, they bought me a “Hairy Otter” shirt, a lovely Harry Potter spoof shirt. And this week they tooko off to Boston and asked me what I wanted from there. I just looked at them blankly and said “How do you want me to answer that?! I dunno. You don’t have to bring me anything!”. Anywho, back to Wed, I looked for them and found them with about 45 minutes to closing time. I helped Jean out in the gift shop, she wanted to pick out some gifts for their grandkids that they are going to visit. Jean told me to wait for them and that they would give me a ride home. Then Jerry arrives and so does their friend (one of our volunteer divers) and they start talking about dinner. Then they said that before taking me home, that we were going to walk over to Shoreline Village to have a drink! OK. I just went along with it and felt amused and spoiled all at the same time. We went to the Yard House, had White Zinfandel and then ordered a big BBQ Burger. MMmhm. We had wonderful conversation and all. It was such a lovely time. After that, they drove me home. They treat me with so much kindness without making me feel like a little kid. I mean, 25 is hardly a little kid anymore, but you know, sometimes, older people still treat you as such. With them, I dunno, it’s different, and I love them for it.
Friday, what did we do? Oh! First off, Juan and I went to get me a new phone. I got the Sony Ericsson T616, a cute phone with so many features, well, I haven’t figured them out yet. Best of all, it has an awesome camera on it. The best part of it all is that whenever Juan calls me, his picture shows up and it puts me in a terribly good mood. It’s so funny, Juan immediately asked me what was up because I answer the phone differently. Anwho, after that we went to Torrid so that I could finally cash in on my sister’s gift certificate that she gave me for my birthdate. Wow. There was so much beautiful clothes there, not to mention boots! I finally narrowed it down and bought two shirts and one lovely denim skirt. We hopped on over to Hometown after that (that’s Juan, SaBi, kaptainsnot, and me) and then Alex called. Well, on a short notice she did pretty good and barely made it on time to the place before they closed the doors. Technically, they had already closed the doors, but they told me I could let her in via the exit. We ate and had a gay old time.
Saturday:
Sunday Juan and I went to go see School of Rock. That movie is so awesome. I LOVED it. It makes you walk outta there singing and just having a happy feeling all over. Jack Black was great, but the real stars are those kids. Man, casting was superb.
