Must. Be. Productive.
OK, let’s start my productivity for today by updating my super neglected LJ. It has gotten to the point where it’s been so long that it makes me lazy just thinking about updating, and I am sure most of you know what I mean by that.
Well, off the top of my head, in no particular order….
Weekend was great. Did nothing in particular that was great other than spend some great quality time with my hubby-to-be. We were on such an emotional and spiritual high this weekend. Must’ve been the rain. heh. Anyway, not that we lack any of that usually, but this weekend was just so special, like it all magnified. It was beautiful. We honestly can’t wait to be married and live under the same roof. To not have to say good-bye at the door for his drive home. He’s told me so many times that home isn’t home for him, home is with me. :,)
*sigh*
OK, moving on from the sap…
Tried ordering my wedding dress on Saturday, but they are not sure that it is in stock anymore, so she was gonna check to see if they will have it today. I have to call that lady back. *mental note* I also found out that they can make the bridesmaids dresses there, just like the Separates at David’s Bridals, for a lot less money. So chicas, we need to make a date soon to discuss and get measurements and just overall see what the hell is going on with this. Shalea, we’ll talk and make arrangements, k’ chica?
Worked an Overnight at the AoP on Friday night. It was the first time I had done that theme: Sandy Shores to Sunken Ships. Basically, there were pirates, a treasure map, and hunting for clues around the Aquarium. It was fun and the kids really liked it. The extra special thing about this event was that it was two groups, one was a small birthday party with like 7-8 eleven or ten year old girls with two adults, and the larger was from Miller’s Children’s Hospital. The latter was a group of 20 diabetic kids with 7 nurses/doctors/program coordinator type people. These kids, from the looks of it, were anywhere from 8-12 years old, and they were simply amazing. It was a real eye-opener into the life of children living with a disease. Before dinner, they all had to check their blood sugar levels. These kids were making their fingers bleed, using their equipment to test themselves, and then the chaperones were recording their levels. From there, they had to figure out how many carb units they were allowed to eat, and if they ate that, how much insulin and other medications they would be administered. These children knew more about their bodies than most adults do. The lady in charge of the group was telling me how each one of the 20 kids present had done something amazing to get there because they were there out of 600. Wow. (!!)
Then I worked on Sunday, which I never do, but I was covering a shortage so I went. It sucked. I was tired, and then one of the volunteers was so insanely rude to me, I can’t remember the last time someone said anything like that to me. Pura falta de respeto.
Right now though, I need to get going because I have this lesson plan I need to work on for Friday. Actually, I need to work on a lesson. But yeah. I have been neglecting a lot of online stuff lately. I miss Immeritus. I go and make sure the place isn’t falling apart, but that is it. Haven’t contributed in a while. Besides, there isn’t much going on right now, the boards died down a lot. We basically have our core of good posters/excellent people, but then there is the occasional riff raff that like to post new threads like “OMG!!11! I cried all night when I read that part when he died – which he didn’t!!!!11111111and not im not in denial”. ugh. So if you’ve never read my plugs, go check out Immeritus people, and take part in a great community. The riff raff never stays long. (thank god)
Edit: Just got a call from the dress shop, they are ordering my dress! Woo-hoo!
