Mah Birthday
Alright kiddos. I am now 26. 26 is such an uneventful unexciting number, but this birthday was anything but. You Immeritans probably already read my post over there, which I will partially copy/paste here.
“Anywho, to answer someone’s question, I am sorry I forget who, birthdays when you are married really, truly are better. He stayed home ‘sick’ for me today (because I didn’t work today – day off). While this may seem like a ploy for a loved one to just be lazy and take a day off, let me tell you something about my dear Juan – he hates calling in sick, and has only done so twice, and twice, it’s been for me. So he woke up really early, woke me up and he told me all these beautiful things about me, and then proceeded with a bunch of cool facts about the day I was born (in history, like in 1832 yada yada – I don’t have the paper with me). Then we went out to breakfast and had some yummy food. Then, we sat in the car with full stomachs and he asked me whether I wanted the next and last part of my birthday already (this is at 8:30 in the morning, so I was a bit reluctant to have it end already). Then I proceeded to tell him that I wasn’t sure because I wasn’t sure what it entailed. Then he just went ahead and said it: we’re going to go buy you a laptop!!!
If you know anything about me, know this: I have been wanting a new machine for years. I have been dreaming of a laptop forever. But we just couldn’t ever afford it. So I continued running Dreamweaver and Adobe Photoshop and everything else on an old Win98 (not SE), P3 450 MHz. And now, I am typing up my first post sitting on the sofa with my laptop, wireless. Sweet.”
On Saturday, we went to my parent’s house and ate some delicious sea food. My mom made ceviche and shrimp cocktails (loaded shrimp cocktails, none of this american restaurant crap), which were delicious. My dad was so excited to finally be able to give me my present, which was the new Star Wars DVD set. Woohoo! My mom also got me some cute black capri pants, which I needed (I had a total lack of black pants).
Also forgot to mention that when we were leaving IHOP this morning, we ran into Yair! He was going in as we were leaving, which was a trip, because quite frankly, I never run into anyone I know, anywhere. So this was a nice surprise coincidence, on my birthday. 🙂
And, to top it all off, my sis, kaptainsnot, made me gift fanart. Isn’t it precious?! Thank you very very much! Also thanks to madzilla and purple_equator for the wonderful lj wishes, and to amontoya for the bday calls.
