there’s no hope

Oh my god! What the hell is wrong with these people?! Whale Burgers?! A fast food chain in Japan is now offering MINKE WHALE BURGERS for $3.50.

“People in other countries may think (eating whale) is strange, but it is our culture,” she said.

Oh said that the whale for the burger is cooked in such a way that “it tastes like beef and tuna, and since it is deep fried it has no odor.”

On some sites it’s saying that it will sell 200 a day to meet demands. And you know why they are doing this? Because of a contest. They polled their customers for the next burger, and even though lamb won, whale meat came in a close second and they said “Oh what the hell, let’s do whale burgers too. We aren’t going to hell fast enough.”

GAH!!! There is so much in the news that is pissing me off today. Forget the toast. This is scary.

That is scary Mag. I guess it would behoove those who are in an older neighborhood to organize and get historic district status. Too late now for those people to try to get a preservation district going…it reminds me of what happened in old Downtown Huntington Beach – before the Hilton, before the fancy shopping and restaurants. The cities just want the tax revenue from the businesses.

God… Whale burgers? Look, Japan, we need to talk. What is with you and eating bizarre and endangered species? We know you’re smart– look at your gadgets. We know you’re not evil–Buddhism is groovy. So this has to be something other than lack of intelligence or morality. How can we work this out? Call me.

p.s. I want to discuss bukake while we’re at it. And also all porn involving inserting flaming objects in women’s lower orifices.

Oh my god, that’s horrible! It’s ALL horrible. With all the stuff to eat out there…oh my. Besides, what’s the point of having a contest if you’re not going to make whatever won the actual winner? The people of Japan have spoken, and they want lamb…and those little awesome candies that taste like milk!

I did find proof though, that Captain Obvious has taken up journalism:
“The residents opposed the plans to raze their homes and businesses to clear the way for a riverfront hotel, health club and offices.”

  Yeah, the private lands being taken for private businesses scares the bejeezus out of me. How could they POSSIBLY get a majority to vote in something as incredibly invasive and rights revoking as that?
  As for the whales, is that a special sort of whale? as far as I know they eat whale in quite a few countries. I watched an episode of oprah where they were talking about international menus, and the lady from.. uh, I think it was iceland, or some very nothern country brought in a platter with different foods that, as I remember contained mostly whale meat. Not saying it’s good or bad, but it seems more than just japan does it.

    You’re right, it’s not just Japan, bit lately, Japan has been in the environmental spotlight a lot due to their fishing practices.
    
    As far as the private lands, yes, as much as I love the whales, it is scarier to think that my life long ambition, once completed, may be taken away.
