It’s beginning to look a lot like Xmas
Well, I have been doing some significant online shopping. Actually, I have yet to buy something at an actual register this Christmas. I went shopping at BestBuy.com but they didn’t have what I wanted. Eventually, I tracked down Juan’s Christmas present to a Circuit City in Fullerton, which, thanks to my sister, we were able to pick up last week. They have a really good 24 minute pickup guarantee, unlike Best Buy’s awful pick-up service which is slower than if you actually went to the store, found it, got it, and then got in line to pay for it.
Then I got some DVD’s from Anime Shoji (thanks
!) for my little sister. I also got my Oriental Trading company package this week with a lot of fun knick-knacky things to give away to my plethora of coworkers. I also did some massive thinkgeek.com shopping today. Boy do I love that shop! Oh! And I finally got my Staff SS present taken care of. All you super productive people have been killing me! Making me feel like I am soooo behind. I mean, I got Christmas cards and it wasn’t even December yet!
Speaking of which, I just ordered mine and I won’t get them until next weekend. That means that they will be arriving just in time for Xmas nationally, but they may be a little late for you internationals. Sorry! But you will get them! The ones that I have been getting so far have been so great, I love doing this every year!
And my SS sent me my present and I already opened it. It was a Lomographic Fisheye camera. *SUPERSQUEE* I can’t wait to get some film and play around with that baby! Woo-hoo!! I will tell you all who it was when more people have gotten their presents.
My desk at work is decorated with xmas lights and a little fiber optic tree that I brought from home. I also hung up some decorations from the ceiling/. My tree still needs a topper, but I can’t find my ribbon box. I want to make a cascading bow, but if I can’t find it, it’s ok. It still looks quite adorable.
This Thursday we are having our Education Department Holiday Cruise around the Harbor. It is a tradition. We all go in the boat that we use from programs every summer and have our holiday party there. I haven’t been to it the last couple of years, but since this is my last month with Education, I really don’t want to miss it.
Next week, we are having our Marketing Holiday Field Trip which happens during the day. We are going to the Huntington Library and Gardens. We actually have reservations for their tea room, which I hear is quite the treat, so I am really looking forward to it!
And last, but not least, Juan’s company party. That will be next Friday. Those are usually fun and kinda upscale but not in a snooty way. This year though, they are having it at a restaurant (instead of at the Four Seasons like last year), which sounds like a fun change.
Anyway, I love the holidays and I hope that they are also treating you well. Remember folks, it is more about how you look at things and how you project your mood to the world. Even when you don’t have money and can’t buy presents for everyone on your list, just sharing in that special loving holiday spirit with your friends and family, well, that’s really what it is all about.
