It just so happened that the party we were going to on Saturday was on Friday instead. Luckily, Juan found this out in time and we went to both the gig and Alex’s party. Before that, I went to go get my ID renewed, and another driving permit. My theory is that three’s a charm. Has to be.
Juan and I were blown away at how good junior’s band played. Wow, their system sounded great, and the lead singer’s voice was awesome. We were really impressed. Last we saw them was like two three years ago, well, in actuality, it was a completely different band, junior was the only constant, but still, he’s really grown.
So we left Norwalk and took off to Santa Monica. Before we went to the bar, we took a detour to Stamps.com, Juan’s (and Memo’s and Heyzen’s and Vince’s…) place of work. It was cool to finally see what he’s been talking about. The place is a lot nicer than I imagined it, which is really good. Juan’s cubicle? Booooooring.
Anyway, so we finally found the bar and there weren’t that many people – yet. She’s really nice and was excited to meet me – finally – and was even more excited when I handed her her b-day card with 2 tix to the aquarium. She’s been dying to go, so she was very happy. I met a ton of Juan’s coworkers, and I can’t remember them all, but lemme try: Denise, Renato, Sarkus (sp?), Meredith, aw man, that’s not even half of them. I guess these are the ones that left more of an impression on me. There was this guy, real smooth talker, he was also fun, in small quantities though. I can’t stand an act 24/7. When we were doing our rounds of good-byes, he took my hand, and instead of shaking it, gave me a compliment and kissed it. *shakes head* What a pimp. lol
Yesterday I had a great day at work. I did four tours and on one of them I got a couple of our guest speakers for the day, which was incredibly intimidating at first. Once we all got settled though, it was great, it ended up as the best tour of the day. Juan and I were supposed to go out clubbing with Renato and a couple of his friends after that, but Juan’s glasses broke and by the time he fixed them it was too late. Anyways, Renato never called back to give us details of the club. *shrug* It’s ok, Juan and I went out for a semi-late movie, after eating shrimp cocktails at home. We saw Once Upon a Time In Mexico. Very interesting movie. High on the drama, especially Johnny Depp, but that’s ok because that is how he is. I love the cinematic shots that Rodriguez takes though. So many were photo worthy frameable shots. Really cool. And I was happy that Salma was only in flashbacks.
Today? Let’s see what comes up. Perhaps, I’ll finish Artemis Fowl and the Eternity Code (really good so far)…
