Must be havin’ a blue moon tonight…

I’m back. Been wanting to update since last weekend. Quite a few things have been going on lately that have been keeping me really busy and away from the computer (here and at Immeritus).

Most notably: Last Sunday was super productive. Juan and I went to La Placita Olvera and registered to get married there. It’s official boys and girls, Juan and I will wed on the 10th of July of this year! After that, we took a stroll down Olvera Street, bought a smoothie and some churros and walked the dense alleys of mexican merchandise. We even ran into Lily from GHS!

After that, Juan and I went to David’s Bridals. I tried on about seven dresses (I only remember four), and many looked nice and lovely, but I don’t think I found ‘the one’. It was still fun though. Now I have a better idea of what I want. As if that wasn’t enough, from there we went a couple of car dealerships to shop around for a car for Juan because he needed to get one since his mom’s car died, and he’s handing over his van to her. He got a really nice deal on a 2002 Mitsubishi Galant, and with his credit, he got a great interest rate. It is a very nice car. I never would have imagined him getting one like that, but it’s a nice car nonetheless.

So yes, Sunday was pretty productive.

The rest of the week involved work. Either working at the AoP or working out at my house. Juan and I have been doing good with our workout routine. I am just getting tired because it’s that, a routine, and I want to change it a little, but not sure how. On Wednesday, my sis and mom and I went to the Bridal shop again and looked at dresses for me and for the bridesmaids. I think the decision is truly final now: navy blue (midnight blue, whatever, depends on the company) with white and yellow flowers (Gerber Daisies!).

We still need to book the reception hall, and I think that for this one more than anything, we will need to make a coperacha de several padrinos (as much as I hate to admit). *sigh* We’ll see. Soon.

And just a random thought that I have had in my head a lot lately: smokers.

What the hell is it that gives them the right to think that it’s ok to make other people smell their smoke? Why do they sit upwind from you? Why, when they’re done, do they think it is ok to litter by throwing the butt on the street? What? Is it so small they think it’s ok to litter when the trash is only an inch big? NO! It’s the self-centered nature of smoking that really gets to me sometimes. I can’t stand to see groups of parents all smoke as they walk their kids out the aquarium because they can’t hold it any longer because they have been deprived of smoking for the two hours they were there, as the smoke envelopes everyone, their kids and everyone behind them. ugh. I hate the smell of smoke in my hair and my clothes. Thank god for the ban on smoking in public restaurants and bars here in California. *
*Now, I know there are a few considerate smokers out there, and this rant isn’t for you. Just that most smokers, well, do fit the bill.
