Before anything, I would like to thank halogirl8 for my 2 lovely new icons (see icon profile, check credits).
My nose is stuffy, my head hurts, and if I move to fast, I have to fight to stay upright because the weakness and dizziness takes over. Oh yes people, I am sick.
I called in sick to work today, so I may as well make something productive out of it, so I shall update (I don’t think Juan would think this was very productive, but, well, I do.)
Last weekend, what did we do? On Friday, we pretty much did nothing, from what I can recall. Juan was so dead tired from his super long week at work that we pretty much passed out the whole night. I think that we went to go eat some tacos pretty late and came back home. Saturday morning, we went to my uncle’s to check on our old sofas that are stored over there. After inspection, we decided that with a nice cleaning and some covers, they will make nice first sofas wherever we may end up. After that, he went home to get ready to go to church.
His parents and my parents needed to go to the church to take their declarations. Basically, a mini sort of interview to see if there is any reason that Juan and I shouldn’t get married. The Deacon wants to make sure that nobody is forcing us into it and that we are getting married for the right reasons. He also took my declaration, but we still need Juan’s and all of our papers in (baptism, first communion, and confirmation).
That evening we went off on a search for a hall, but did not find one. We ended up at crappy K-Mart to find something to wear for our Enagement Photo shoot the next day with Heather. We opted for blue jeans and white shirts at the beach. Classic.
So Sunday, we started off by meeting my sis and Heather (her friend) at the Aquarium. We went to eat at Shoreline Village and then went to the Aquarium. I gave them a nice Behind the Scenes Tour which they all really enjoyed. Crappy part was that since Saturday night, I could feel I was getting sick, so all of Sunday, I felt quite irritable and out of it. But whatever, after the AoP, we headed just a couple blocks down to a stretch of beach and took some lovely sunset pictures. I can’t wait to see how they came out. She was very professional and fun. The only thing that Juan and I both concurred upon is that we want her to take more control of the pictures. I like how she wants us to be us and all, but sometimes you need the photographer’s point of view to guide you as to where to go. The biggest thing was taking pictures at this beach with so much raza there. Seriously, they kept lookin’ and starin’ and asking questions, which Juan and I both ignored, but Heather very answered for us. In a little over an hour, she took about 200 shots! There’s gotta be a nice one in there somewhere, right? So it was fun.
But pretty much since then, I have been loungin’ around and sleepin because of this damned cold/flu. I never know or bother to figure out the differences.
Piece of bad news: Juan really, really, really, had his heart set on the Data Analyst position at work, and as much as they cheered him on and led him to believe that he’d get it, he didn’t. But he’s decided to work full-time now so that we can save up for the wedding and our place.
