Coolness

Yesterday so rocked!

I had a great day at work. Most memorable was my second tour which was full of great people. We were up at the dive lockers and I was telling them all about them when Eric, one of our dive volunteers shows up, and as usual, stops to talk to us about what he does, his equipment, etc. That is always much appreciated. So then we go to the top of big trop, feed some fish, and we see Eric get into the soft coral exhibit (which is on one of the sides of the tunnel in trop.). So, we make a pit stop downstairs to see if we can see him underwater in the tunnel. Lo and behold, he’s there, feeding fish – but so are twenty million other people, there, watching him, blocking our view. So we squeeze through, he sees us and recognizes us. Then I mime a camera and he comes right up to pose for a picture with one of the girls – even pulled his regulator out. That was hilarious and cool and nice all at the same time. They loved it. Then, he threw his head back and started blowing bubble rings up the water which really amused everyone there. He even got applause and everything.

It’s the little things you do that show how much you enjoy something, and when you enjoy something, it is so much easier to bring joy to others. He didn’t have to do any of that, but he did, and that was one of the things that totally made my day.

Then I go to Lorikeets and go on a hunt for Corey and Cheeks. Finally I find them, or, actually, Cheeks finds me, and we play. They’re brothers and tend to hang out together, so it wasn’t long before Corey found me. These two birds are so much fun! They wrestle with each other like the boys they are, but with such a racous! You’d think they were killing each other! So I often wrestle with them in my hands, and they get pretty rough. I am looking at my hands and see red spots and a couple of bruises where they pinched me hard with their beaks. They always go for the soft spots! But they’re playing, because in all this rough housing, not a single break in the skin. Bruises and bumps, but no lesions.

And then, to top off a great day, when I get out, Juan is waiting for me in the car and we chat and stuff and go out and eat chinese. Then we head home, I change, and we go bowling with la Chusma, minus a few. It was awesome! It came down to the last frame, but I beat everybody!!! Yes, this includes Juan. But I more than made up for it on my second game by coming in last. I wasn’t expecting to play a second game, so I put my all in that first game, and by the time the second came around, I was gone. Still, the memory of my victory last night will be with me forever, because I have never beaten everyone there. *does a little dance*

Today, some of the girls and I are going to the bridal shop so that they can try on bridesmaids dresses. And later, it’s Gameworks baby! Company party, free everything, woo-hoo!
