Finally a day off after my 9-day stretch of work. Been doing a lot of outreach, but only one of them was to a school. For three days we went out for truck displays. The funnest was on Sunday on our second day at a Cherry Blossom Festival in Pasadena. They had good food, and lots of things to look at. Ran into some people I recognized that work the Autumn Festival at the Aquarium, so that was cool.
Yesterday though, when we got back, we had husbandry take a look at one of our sea hares because it looked like something that wasn’t supposed to be coming out the back end was. Well, he was losing his insides, is what it was. Poor little guy. They told us somebody must’ve squeezed him too hard (mind you there is no squeezing period). And when he picked him up, he started inking! A beautiful rich violet ink that the natives used to use to die their clothes with, but at this moment was messing up the water in the touch tank! So one girl ran off to find a bucket and I went over to shut off the water flow to/from that tank so that it wouldn’t cross over the rest of the system. And the damn thing wouldn’t stop inking! Must’ve been pretty freaked out. We don’t know what happened with him, but we hope that he sucks back his insides, or else he may not be around for long.
Uhm… what else? Nothing really right now. Nothing that I feel like talking about anyway. Gotta do lots of cleaning right now. Yay! Fun!
