Spreading the word
To my fellow environmentalists and beach lovers…
California Coastal Cleanup Day is on September 17th from 9am-noon this year. This is the one day that all Californians close to any body of water, be it the ocean, rivers, or lakes go out and cleanup the trash and debris that makes it way there either directly from careless beach goers, or by secondary means (like all that trash that was on your street before it rained and washed it all down to the ocean). It is an amazing thing to be able to take part in, and all sorts of organizations in your area are going to be participating. For more information about this, visit the California Coastal Cleanup page, or if you are close to Long Beach, you can also join the Aquarium group out on the beach.
Parents? This is a great way to get your kids interested and involved in being stewards of the ocean (or nature in general). Get out there for a beach day and feel good about helping out!
