Year-end movie review
I was reading all the year in reviews, and I think it was grrliz that listed all the movies she saw this year. What I was really surprised with was how few of the movies that I set out to see this year, I actually saw. This year was not good for movie watching. This is what happens when you get married. We used to go to the movies a lot. Now, we go about once a month. I guess that is more normal. I love the movies though.
1. Ong-Bak – The Thai Warrior – Awesome fight movie. AWESOME! Thanks to Heyzen for giving Juan that movie for his PSP (x-mas). He was dying to see it again!
2. Sin City – Visually stunning.
3. The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy – Favorite part was the knitted people. lol
4. Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith – I wasn’t dissapointed.
5. Mr. And Mrs. Smith – It was cute and entertaining.
6. Batman Begins – One of the best films of the year. Batman has been rescued!
7. March of the Penguins – You know? This was cute, but I don’t think it was that cute.
8. War of the Worlds – Very pleasantly surprised. What an awesome movie!
9. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory – This was a weird fun trip. And contrary to popular opinion, I loved the Oompa Loompas.
10. The 40 Year-old Virgin – Funniest movie in years.
11. The Transporter 2 – Wow, was that ever bad!
12. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire – Wrote a whole review. Bottom line? Loved it.
13. The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe – Pretty good. Visually gorgeous. Killed it with the ending.
The only movie that I really wish I hadn’t seen at the theater was The Transporter 2, but really, how is that surprising? The comercials were a whole lot better to it than the movie really was. It was so bad it was actually quite entertaining, in a hilarious, let’s make fun of it, sort of way. And as far as movies that I didn’t see that wanted to, well, let’s not go there because that list would probably be longer than the ones up there. =)
