*****reunion reminder*****
No joke, this was in my MySpace Bulletins:
WELL AS YOU ALL MAY KNOW IT TAKES A VERY LONG TIME AND A LOT OF MONEY TO PLAN AN EVENT LIKE THIS. WE THOUGHT IT WAS GOING TO BE A GREAT SUCCESS AND SO FAR IT HAS BEEN A GREAT DISAPPOINTMENT. WE ARE ALMOST A CLASS OF 700 AND ALL INVITATIONS WERE SENT OUT BY THE FIRST WEEK OF OCTOBER, BY NOW WE THOUGHT THERE WAS GOING TO BE A GOOD OUTCOME, BUT WE HAVE ONLY RECEIVED 1 RESPONSE. THIS IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE. WE HAVE WORKED SO HARD AND SPEND SO MUCH MONEY ON THIS EVENT, YOU GUYS HAVE NO IDEA. THERE ARE DEPOSITS ON EVERYTHING, THAT IS NON-REFUNDABLE. WE NEED FOR YOU GUYS TO LET US KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON.

1) Making the event the Friday after Thanksgiving weekend. People make travel plans for Thanksgiving weekend. If someone was thinking about traveling back ‘home’ for their reunion will have undoubtedly run into the realization that they had to choose between their families/vacations and a class reunion. Was there ever a poll to see what the masses thought was a good date?
2) Making it so that it is right in the first week of the holiday season also means that people’s money is now tied to the holidays themselves.
3) I think that making it on a Saturday instead of a Friday would have yielded better results.
I know this is too little too late, but since you felt it necessary to send out a mass message yelling at everyone for not buying their tickets, I thought I would share my thoughts on why that might be the case.
Either way, good luck with the event.
There are a lot of things that keep me irritated about the event overall. I only shared what I thought had to do with everyone else as well. But for me, personally, it also had as much to do about the details. I think they needed someone that could actually design stuff, like an invitation, which didn’t need to be expensive. Could have even been done on the same paper, but look better. I dunno. Like I told
, this person made a myspace page for the class but never let anyone know who they were until really late. Either way, I don’t know them. But they took it upon themselves, never asked for input or help, and now it is all crap. I am not interested. I would have offered my help if they had bothered thinking that they could use it. I mean, they are advertising this on a networking site. You’d think they’d use that to their advantage. Instead, it seems like a small group of people organized something that they thought was cool and that would blow everyone away with their awesome secret organizing skills. Instead, it is probably going to suck.
Too bad. 🙁
