Looking for a new host

As you all know, we have had nothing but problems with 1and1.com as our host and dedicated server at http://immeritus.org. The site has been down almost ten times this week, with as many phone calls to customer support, and every time I call, they point the finger at me saying that there are too many db queries and that I should look into optimizing them. Well, I know I am not the only one to use Dragonfly CMS to run a dynamic site (which hey, last time I checked, I needed to make a messload of db queries to make it, you know, dynamic) out there. They make is sound like we are just using up way too many resources on a dedicated box when our visitor numbers are currently way lower than in our heyday back when the HP fandom was going crazy.

So we will most likely be moving as soon as we can work out a few things. What I need from you guys is recommendations for hosts. We currently pay about $80 a month for a managed dedicated server (get what we pay for?). I can’t manage a server myself because I don’t know the first thing about kernel updates or all the other things that come with standard dedicated servers. If you are a webmaster and know that your shared host could handle our site, I would like to hear those rec’s too. And yes, we would love to go in as your referral if that gets you any sort of cash.

I just want a reliable place to host where it won’t cost an arm and a leg. Our hosting is funded by our very own dedicated members, and I don’t want to ask them to contribute massive amounts of money.
